No, I didn't try close. Maybe that will work.
BTW, I was listening to the Kim Komando Show in the car today, and someone
asked the same question. She said "Alt + F4" would do it.
I don't see why Alt-F4 would work differently than closing the window
by "clicking on X". Both mean "close the window", not "exit the program".
Of course, closing the last window of a program will eventually make it
exit, but in the interval the bothering website has time to open another
window, it seems.
