Thanks... this actually makes sense...

The "makes sense" comes from the likelihood that SM is the computer's "default browser" and a file association for one of the browser file associations within the folder is being executed by file explorer.

This process is not specific to SM as if something in windows is executing a browser specific file such as an html file, the process should start the user's default browser.

I have to add that my suspicious nature also reminds me that a local automated process might also launch a browser associated file or internet shortcut directed to a page on a malicious site.
