the main dict is also plain text, but it is in conjunction with another
file which I would assume is an index reference of some type, so, if it
were me, perhaps a reinstall from a fresh download in an attempt to
assure that the replacement is not corrupt?

suggest making backup copies of your current dictionary folder files so
that you can run a file comparison after a reinstall.

The problem is in personal Dictionary when writing a post or reply > choose Spell

scroll to find bad spelling. highlight word hit return twice then save changes and close both windows.
