>> I am using Windows Live Mail under the Windows 7 Operating System. It is okay, but a co-worker suggested that I try Thunderbird. <<

Been waiting for someone else to respond since I know very little about winlive. I assume that is the case with the other responders here as well, but, a couple of thoughts until others with more info chime in;

What little I know and have heard about windows live has been all bad... primarily from other friends and associates who support those who use windows live.

Every email solution has pros and cons, and I assume that most here feel they really benefit from using SeaMonkey (essentially the same as Thunderbird) as their email client, and most of those would probably tell you that it will be worth whatever pains you encounter making the transition.

Your email address book should be easy to import. Personally I would not try to transfer the messages but rather plan on a transition period to use windows live to access and reference old messages and use SeaMonkey as your only email client.

SeaMonkey uses the same browser engine as Firefox, so, you should notice little difference other than websites admonishing you that you are using a browser they don't support... that, however, can be addressed by editing the browser's user agent string.
