Update: I got a phone call from the tech guy. It seems that a whole 
bunch of stuff is going wrong since something changed in IE (?) and that 
the points I pushed forward about sniffing and Gecko and so on turned 
out really useful for them. He said they are definitely going to correct 
the website appropriately.
