He also uses the non-existent HTML tag of <br soft> which is an error, and can be treated by various browsers however they choose. They may substitute a <br> or they may ignore it, thus giving you "text overwrite." You might be able to eliminate the problem by pressing Ctrl-Minus once or twice.
