When you first select Advanced message search and find some messages,
the program presents you with a number of action choices at the bottom
of the screen: open, file, delete, open message folder, save as a search
folder. When you select a message the boxes for the available
actions become highlighted and you can select what you wish done.
Suppose that you do the following:
- Go back to the search criteria and add criteria to be more selective.
.-- press search , to redo the search
..--- open and read a couple of the messages
- Go back to the search criteria and change the additional criteria
.-- redo the search
..--- read a few of the newly selected messages, possibly deleting some.
- Go back to the search criteria again
After several cycles through this, suddenly the 'save as a search
folder' button becomes the only choice available if you select a
message! The other buttons stop working!
Oh, you can still double click the message to open it.
If you want you can then delete the message after it opens, and then
close that window to return to the search window.
But you need to play around if you want to find and open the folder,
et.c. (i.e. its an inconvenience rather than a show stopper).

So is this misbehaviour still in SM 2.1 ??

Never use search, but here is an idea.

Download and install SM 2.1 beta.

Create a separate profile for it.

Get messages.

Try the advanced search and find out.
