Sure, just go to the news/mail window and create a new account from File->New
and follow the prompts. You need to know name of the server, and if it wants
authentication or encrypted (SSL) connection you have select that.
Some sites, like eternal-september require checking the "always offer
authentication" because they work one way with and one way without it.
That said, if you want to do binaries something else will probably serve you
better.
