The final specification for HTML 5 has not yet been published. The current W3C specification is a working draft. "W3C encourages everyday use starting from 'Candidate Recommendation'." HTML 5 is not yet there. Possible changes in the working draft prior to final publication of a W3C "Candidate Recommendation" -- or beyond, of a W3C final "Recommendation" -- may require changes to the Gecko engine in SeaMonkey. Such changes would invalidate any conclusions based on prior testing. The W3C has yet to finalize its own test suite for HTML 5. That test suite includes both correctness and performance tests. A definitive test of browser performance with HTML 5 does not yet exist. -- David E.
