Don't really know who is at fault ... however, I installed the addon
"gTranslate" that uses Google Translation and it works for the most
part. A little tricky but once you get the hang of it, it servers it's
purpos quite well.

Download/Install the addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/918/

Now let me give you a few hints to help you along.

1. Bring up the eBay German page in question
2. Hilite a portion of text in German, not too much, just a few
sentences, short paragraph for instance.
3. Right-click on the hilited portion and select "Translate ..."
4. A window pops up with a single line, mouse over the line and the
translated copy will appear
5. Click on the line in the box and a Google page will show up in the
browser in a tab with the German on the left and the English on the right.

Best I could come up with but it takes a little playing around with to
make it work efficiently .. but it DOES work.
