Tue, 25 Jan 2011 20:33:32 -0500, /Rostyslaw Lewyckyj/:
When I go to read newsgroups such as ukr.politics or some other groups that normally don't use iso-8859-1 or other basically latin1 encoding, most of the Subject: headers do not come with the magic cookies that will cause them to be properly displayed in the message listing pane. When I load the article body, I can go to 'Options' in the tool bar, select various Character encodings and have SM change the display to that encoding on the fly. How can I do the same for the message Subject: list?
Not sure if this will help but try right-clicking the group, open its Properties and then select "Default Character Encoding".
