SM2 does install to a different directory which causes the problem.
My wife still needs to use MOZ which shares with SM1.1.18 which
allows her to access her email account using MOZ. The root problem is
that SM2.0 and all follow ups do not have the ability to insert a
return sender address of a secondary email account. Thank for the
response.
Sure they do. Just use an explicit "Reply-To" line. You can do this ad
hoc for a particular message (the same way as when setting Bcc), or
set a preference for all messages from that account in Mail &
Newsgroup Account Settings.
Paul, I guess I didn't make myself very clear in what I was looking for.
My wife is very limited in her computer skills and Moz was able to
'automatically' insert the name of the secondary account into the sender
line of any message that she sent out. The change to SM stopped this and
I tried to adjust SM1.X to do this but without success. I was thinking
that maybe SM2.X would allow this. I appreciate your response.
OK, if you don't want a separate Reply-to line with the secondary
address, then I suppose you have two options:
1) modify her identity settings in Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings.
Don't mess with the username under "Server Settings," as most ISPs use
the email address as part of the login. Just change the "Your name"
and/or "Email address" in the main pane, "Account Settings."
2) Set a filter that automatically diverts all mail addressed to the
primary account and puts it in the Inbox of the secondary account. Then
she can reply normally from the secondary account and ignore the primary
one. But you will have to train her to get mail using CTRL-SHIFT-D (all
accounts) instead of CTRL-D (this account), or else set SM to
automatically download mail from the primary account every nn minutes.
If she just gets mail for the secondary account, she'll never see the
filtered messages because she won't retrieve them.
I'm assuming in both cases that both accounts are part of a single profile.
