Updated to the new 2.0.whatever and when I imported the old profile,

Apparently it was halfway done. And I unfortunately pulled my new
email down before I could clear anything and reload the profiles.

I have both folders. I need the old email and the new (is now off the
server). How can I merge these?

Thanks

Lisa, I don't know of any automatic way of doing this, but to do it
manually.......

1. In your old SM 1.x.x go to Edit->Mail&Newsgroups Account Settings and select Server Settings for your email account.

2. At the bottom of the screen you should see your Local Directory location. Note this as it will indicate where your emails are.

3. Close SM 1. Start SM 2.0.whatever, go to the same location and note where its Local Directory is.

4. Close SM 2. In your Computers Find File program, search for "inbox" (without the quotes. This should give you the exact locations of your SM 1 and SM 2 profiles.

5. In your File Manager, go to the SM 1 inbox location and change the name of that file to Oldinbox or whatever. Then move or copy this file to the location of your SM 2 inbox. Don't worry about the index file called something like inbox.msf, this will be rebuilt when you open SM 2 and select this folder.

6. Carry out step five actions but this time for the sent folder, which contains your outbound mail. Don't forget the name change.

7. Start up your SM 2.whatever to see if your old mail appears.

Report back here if you need further assistance.
