Aha. I thought this and its related browser.chrome.site_icons only displayed the icons when they were available. I didn't realize they force a search for the icons. Is there a preference variable (or set of variables) that will display the icon only when the Web page explicitly links to an icon file but won't ask the Web server to search for a default icon file? -- David E.
