According to Slashdot, Mozilla Labs is evaluating whether to eliminate the address area from Firefox. See <http://news.slashdot.org/story/11/05/25/1532246/Mozilla-Labs-the-URL-Bar-Has-To-Go>. The discussion at Slashdot also has some very negative comments about the elimination of the status bar, which has already happened in Firefox.
PLEASE don't implement either of these dis-improvements in SeaMonkey. I use SeaMonkey because I think it has a superior user interface when compared with Firefox.
