To David E. Ross: AFAIK the correct way to fix your problem is this:
1. Go to about:config
2. Search for "extensions.lastAppVersion"
3. Change the value to something bigger than "2.1" (e.g. "2.2")
4. Restart SeaMonkey (the above pref will be reset to "2.1").
