I suppose by favorites you mean bookmarks. The same happened to me. But have no fear, nothing is lost. Just do the following:
1. Open Help, Troubleshooting Information 2. Click Open Containing Folder; remember/copy the location 3. Open Bookmarks, Manage Bookmarks 4. Open Tools, Import HTML; select File; click Next 5. Navigate to the folder from (2.) above and select bookmarks.html 6. Click Open.
