At my place of work today where SM 2.2 was being used (I was not present

2.3 had been released so now that I'm home I checked for updates to my
2.2 and it said there were no updates. I checked and apparently 2.3b2 is
still the only 2.3 out there. I'll be back there again on Wednesday so I
can check this out for myself, but I'm just wondering if 2.3 was
inadvertently released sometime today?
You probably received an update because you installed a beta version in the
past, which pinned you to the beta update channel. You can check in
about:config, filtering on "app.update.channel". AFAIK changing the pref there
won't help, though. You'd have to edit the defaults\pref\channel-prefs.js file
in the SM app directory instead.
That said, SM 2.3 final has not been released yet. The next beta, 2.3b3, will be
released within the next few days. Note that all recent betas identify
themselves with the same version as the final release. This is in line with
recent betas of Firefox and Thunderbird.

Thanks Jens - yes, I have in the past going back to 2.0.x someplace kept using
pre-releases. Last one before going to 2.1 then 2.2 was 2.0.15pre. Never
crossed my mind that those settings would migrate.
