Further details :

With the video playing windowed, right-clicking in
the video pane will bring up a "Powered by AVS/
Settings/Global Settings/ Adobe Flash Player"
popup, and the video will continue to stream for
some time without requiring further mouse movement.

Having just unmuted the sound, I can now also report
that the sound is not affected; it is just the video
element of the video that freezes unless/until the
mouse is moved.

When the video reaches the end of stream in full-frame
mode, the entire system seems to hang, and only
Ctrl-Alt-Del has any effect. An Adobe Flash Player
icon appears on the start bar, and attempting to
kill this through Task Manager results in the
following error report :

szAppName : plugin-container.exe szAppVer : 6.0.0.4242
szModName : hungapp szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

This site gives a simple way to view a related effect :

Observe the digital clock below and to the left of
the video pane : the time does not advance unless the
mouse is kept in motion and crossing zone boundaries.
