With M$'s standard pattern,
you'll want to wait until SP3 before even considering it.
I figure Y2014 at the earliest.

...meanwhile, Gecko-based software works fine under Linux
and you don't have infection worries with the OS.
Linux also works well with your old hardware
as well as most hardware that is over 6 months old.
