I have found what appears to be my lost bookmarks in the following file:
C:\Documents and Settings\frog\Application
Data\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\ef6mjiq5.default\bookmarks.html
I believe that this is a good start at making my bookmarks work again.
At the present time, however, I don't know how to make them appear when
I click Bookmarks on my Web page. Do I now have to import the files from
bookmarks.html into the web browser? If not, how do I get them to
reappear when I click bookmarks at the top of my Web page window?
Please help me or give me a suggestion on where to find the answer to
this lingering problem.
Thanks,
Frog
Please forgive me for not knowing how to post a response to all of those
who responded to my message. Thanks to one and all for the information
provided--it was all useful and helpful.
The reason for my wanting to establish a way of saving my profile
information was based on a recent system re-do I had to perform. My
virus scan software latterly took control of my system...thus it had to
go. In the process of restoring data from an external hard drive
complete backup of my system, I was confronted with loosing the data
stored in my profile from the date of the backup to the current date. I
decided, once my system was back up and running properly again, that I
needed to find a way of making a backup of my SeaMonkey (2.3.3) profile
that could be made quickly during my routine system cleanup and later
(when needed) be quickly restored to my system. I had in mind that my
E: drive (my data storage drive)was the place for this backup. Although
I have not completely achieved this goal, I have downloaded the
"MozBackup" software that was recommended in this thread. I believe,
based on the limited information I have read about this software
package, that it will fulfill my backup requirements.
Thanks to all who responded--the help was greatly appreciated.
