I've just setup SeaMonkey having read some posts about it and I'm as
close to 100% thrilled with it as I could be. My only complaint has
to do with the inboxes in mail. I've looked for an add on and for
help but either what I want doesn't exist or I just don't know the
terminology. Simply stated, I love the fact that in Thunderbird, I
have five e-mail accounts BUT all inboxes show up together making it
easy to see all of my mail. In SeaMonkey, I have to scroll to each
mail account's folders and open the inbox and wish I could set it up
the same way as Thunderbird. Is there a way to do this or am I out of
luck?
If you really want all incoming mail in the same box, do this:
Edit | Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings | Server Settings (for each of
your five accounts) | "Advanced" button, choose "Global Inbox (Local
Folders Account)."
I think there are good reasons not to do this, but YMMV.
If what you're asking is to be able to list the five inboxes together
without pooling their contents, I can't help; I don't think that's
possible.
thanks for the tip but I don't want them all in one inbox, I want all
the inboxes together. I don't recall how I set it up that way in
Thunderbird--I think it just happened--but above all the separate
accounts:Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc, there are the inboxes for each of those
accounts making it very easy to see how much mail I've got in each
account and it's really easy to move from my Gmail to my Yahoo etc.
Since posting, I had a brainstorm and thought, maybe hitting "n" in the
mail will do the same thing as newsgroups and that takes me from the
last message in Gmail, for example, to the next inbox so that will work
if there's no way to actually have the inboxes in one place.
