The new SeaMonkey 2.5 (on Linux) shows a strange behaviour on a few websites
with pictures. Not sure, if it is relevant, but what they seem to have in
common is that the picture thumbnails on the page are not separate files
from the server, but scaled-down versions of the full-size files to which
they link.

When I first load such a page, everything is nornmal, the thumbnails are
shown and when I click on them I get the full picture.
Now, when I return to the browser tab one or two days later, the thumbnails
are no longer shown, only empty frames are there and when I click on them I
get a page with only a text line containing the URL.

The pictures are unchanged on the server, and I verified with about:cache
that they are also all in the local disk cache. So they should be loaded
from the cache, but this does not seem to work for unknown reasons.
With LiveHTTPHeaders I can see that SM does make server requests for the
files which are correctly answered with "304 Not Modified".
A simple page reload does also not help, only a full reload brings the
page back to normal (for a while ;-).

All this does not happen with earlier SeaMonkey versions nor with Firefox.

Regards, J.Roderburg
