(If you want to go to my question and avoid my description of the problem jump to the last paragraph below.)

I was attempting to view images (jpgs) on a web page and could not figure out why they did not showing up. The page would download minus the images (jpgs). My first attempt to get the images to appear was to verify the image permissions were not set to block images:

Tools->Image Manager

Sure enough the permission setting was set to block images. I reset the permissions to allow the default images setting. Still no images could be dowloaded for this web page.

After several frustrating minutes checking all the preferences I could think that might prevent the images from downloading I checked the page source to verify if the Website was somehow preventing SeaMonkey from downloading the images.

View->Page Info (and click on the Media tab)

There was there solution (and the problem). At the bottom of a page full of text was a check-box labeled:

Block images from TheWebsiteIWantToView.com

I unchecked this box and instantly the images appeared upon refreshing the webpage. Note this check-box remained checked even when I went to the tool menu and reset the permissions to allow images to download. The check-box needs to be separately unchecked (if checked) regardless of what setting is changed under the tools menu's image permissions.

My question is when I reset the image permissions under the tools menu why was this permissions change not also made to the "block images" check-box in the View->Page Info under the media tab? Is this bug or something designed this way for a reason? Users who do not find this obscure check-box will not know how to enable images to download and falsely believe either SeaMonkey is broken or the webpage is badly written (or broken). Is this "Block Images check-box" a bug or a design feature designed this way for a valid reason?
