I prefer that when i click on a link which is a pdf document that this
document is open by Adobe and not by SM.
So i modified the opion in Adobe as:
Adobe Reader 10 - Edit - Preferences - Internet:
The option "Display PDF in Browser" is NOT set.

But the click on a link pointing to a pdf, open this pdf in SM instead
of starting Adobe Reader to display it.

Any idea where to look ?

In SM:
Edit > Preferences > Helper Applications > Find Content Type "PDF".
What's in the Action column for the PDF Content?

Change Action by clicking on the Action, then "Use Other" in the drop
down list, find and select Adobe for the Action.

Thanks ! It was positionned as "Always ask" apparently without effect.
I positionned now to Acrobat(was written: The default)

Now all is ok.

I have 3 PDF content types listed, "application/pdf" is set to open directly. But "application/unknown" and "application/x-download" is set to "always ask", so I have to choose to open or save sometimes.

I guess some pdf documents don't have a correct content type?
