Thanks for the answers. I'm getting forgetful as I age, so I think it
safest to go with the permanent deletion.

Ralph's answer with disable the ssl cache permanently. However, if you
simply want to clear the cach after visiting a site (bank account for
example), switch to a browser window and select Tools|Clear Private
Data|ensure that 'Cache' is checked& click on 'Clear Private Data now'.
