I didn't read the entire bug thread, but the complaints seemed to be regarding a lack of a specific tool to check/rebuild all the .msf index files. Seamonkey uses basically the same engine, and also lacks this tool. I didn't see anything in that thread suggesting that TB 3.x is significantly worse than 2.x -- but again, AFAIK SM uses the same engine as recent (9.x?) TB builds. The main differences between TB and SM Mail seem to be the new user interface in TB. I'm sorry, but I didn't find anything there suggesting that TB had become significantly less reliable than SM Mail, or that .msf corruption risks were significantly lower in SM.
