But that's not a function of the browser -- it is the web page that does
it. And as I said in my other post, it's JavaScript included with the
Google page.
Try using Google with all your add-ons and extensions disabled.

When I reverted to SM 2.7, it started doing it again after a couple of days.
I noticed that if Google wasn't behaving like I liked (or more to the
point was used to) I was more comfortable with the page display if I
unchecked SM "Advertise Firefox Compatibility" under
Preferences/Advanced/HTTP Networking.
I find I particularly don't like the Firefox-like preview when doing
image searches - I prefer the "contact sheet" style presentation.
