Unless I'm getting a bogus error message, Seamonkey 2.8 won't work on
my Slackware 12 system. I'm getting a message that gcc 4.2.0 is required,
but I have gcc 4.1.2 installed. Is it correct that Seamonkey 2.8 for
Linux requires gcc 4.2? If so, what is the most recent version of
Seamonkey that will work with gcc 4.1.2 (and where is it on the seamonkey
site)?

Thanks.

vsethi, if you need an older version of SM, click the SeaMonkey icon up in the top-right of the page. This will take you to the SeaMonkey home page. There, click the link to "Other Systems & Languages" and, at the bottom of that page, you will see links to all former issues of SM.

The other option would be to up-date gcc from one of the repositories. Have you tried this??
