How do I stop SM from telling about the new update to 2.9? I'm not ready
to upgrade yet.

Tom, it is my understanding that you cannot stop SM installing an
update, even if you don't want it, SM just does it!!

You might try unchecking "Automatically check for updates" in
Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Software Installation.

It's worked correctly for me for a long time. I have "Automatically
check for updates" checked but "Automatically download and install the
update" unchecked, so I get nagged periodically, but SM doesn't install
anything without my explicit consent.

If I didn't want to get nagged, I'd uncheck "Automatically check for
updates" as you say.

Thanks for this, Paul.

I did have "Automatically check for update (weekly) selected with Automatically download and install the update deselected and Warn me selected. Still got auto updates installed, anyway.

Just tonight, I've removed the tick from Auto check for updates. I'll see what happens!!
