When I view the source of a Web page, entity references are inconsistently displayed. Some such as × show as the translated characters while others such as & are not translated.
My old bug report #591114 was closed as WontFix with the assertion that > Since the DOM doesn't contain entity references, only characters, > the best we can do for any given character is to either output it > as-is or entity-encode it, no matter where it came from originally. However, the display does indeed show , &, and some other entity references. Can the display of a page source be made consistent, preferably with the entity references untranslated?
