When I did this, I got the following,

plugin.scan.WindowsMediaPlayer;7.0

That is the only thing I could find doing several searches. I'm not sure what this is, so I would appreciate some advice before I go changing it.

I am still getting this behavior. I does look like it has something to
do with the pages I visit and not necessarily just opening SeaMonkey. I
have nothing that I can find in SeaMonkey that points to media player
and nothing under the default file extensions in windows that I can find.

Is there a way to search the SeaMonkey settings for media player? I will
also search the windows registry and see what I can find there.

Have you checked your preferences to see if it uses Media Player for
anything??

In the browser address bar, enter "about:config" (without the quotes)
and, if you're happy playing with the config, accept the warning, then,
in the prefs screen, enter "media player" or some such in the Search
line. (My config does not show a listing so this may not help you!!).
