I'm having some problems getting Seamonkey "properly" installed on Ubuntu. Full disclosure: I'm a "Linux n00b."

I did the installation from http://www.seamonkey-project.org/ but it just created a "Seamonkey" folder in my home directory. I discovered that if I click on the rather generic-looking "seamonkey" object in that folder, it will launch BUT, I can't figure out how to make it my default browser and mail/newsgroup client (instead of Firefox/Thunderbird which comes pre-installed).

This page seems outdated:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SeaMonkey

Seamonkey is not recognized in the Ubuntu Software Center, and the command line info doesn't work for the same reason.

In "small words" only, how can I get this thing "properly" installed and working so I don't have to open my "home" folder, then open the "seamonkey" folder and double-click "seamonkey." I'd like to be able to just launch it from the launchbar like I can Firefox.

Thanks.
