I am using Vista vers 6 with SP2 and again after compacting

lost all the files in my inbox. Even tried a restore with no luck.
Anyone have any ideas what is going on. So far as I can tell it is
only
the mail inbox. This is the second time once with 2.10 and now
2.11. I
use PC Tools Internet Security and PC Tools Untilities.

Thanks again for any assistance and I do have it showing all not
unread
and even the tagged files are gone also. Got me confused.

"all not unread"....Lee, is this a typo, as you want the two menus set
to Messages...All and Threads....All!!

Lee, FYI, the preference here is that you bottom post, that way, anybody
gets your problem first, then my reply with suggestions, then your
reply, etc, etc.

O.K., now that I re-read your OP, I guess you meant that you had
selected *All* and had *not* selected *unread*, just having "all not
unread" confused me.

O.K., so in View->Messages, you have All selected. What have you got
selected under View->Threads??

I have "all" selected in View->Threads!

O.K., that's a bit of disappointing, but.....!

Next, have a look at Edit->Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings, and select "Server Settings" on your Mail Account and, at the bottom of this screen, under "Local directory" is what SM now thinks is the location of your Profile. Note this location.

Next, have a look at Tools->Switch Profiles. Are there more profiles listed there than you would expect?? If so, check out the other profiles to see if your lost emails are there!!

If not, completely close SeaMonkey, including the Quick Start function if you use it. Now, in Windows Explorer, set it up to show hidden files, then do a "Find Files and Folders" looking for "Inbox" (without the quotes). Not the locations, one should be the same as was noted in the SeaMonkey screen above.

Locate the other "inbox"s and rename them inbox1, inbox2, etc, and then move/copy them to the same location as your current inbox. Then start SeaMonkey, open your e-mail account and check out the other inbox's to see if any of them contain your missing mail.

If one does, then do a similar process looking for your "Sent" folder.

Report back!!
