Webmasters who put up these messages should be required to use the following standard language:

"Due to our ignorance and/or incompetence, we regret that we are unable to write W3C-compatible code. Accordingly, your browser may not be able to display our pages as we intend. We apologize and hope you will visit our competitors' sites instead."
