Hi!

I noticed that SeaMonkey (SM) v2.0.12 purges old newsgroup threads/posts
before I go read the specific newsgroup. Is there a way to have it do
AFTER I read the newsgroup like in v2.0.14 and earlier?

Basically I was downloading tons of headers in an unread newgroup with
last eight/8 days to keep. I went to read this group, and it was empty
because SM purged the newsgroup threads because they were older than
8/eight days. :(

Thank you in advance. :)

Ant, where you mention SM 2.0.12 above, I expect you really mean SM 2.12!!

I seem to recall that when you set up a NG account, you specify a time (several days to several weeks) after which messages will expire and be automatically marked as read.

What I think you are experiencing is that you are downloading all the headers from the newsgroup server and, as all the messages in the group are old, they are being marked as read.

I cannot find where this time limit is set, maybe someone else will drop by with that info!!
