Why, after upgrading to 2.12.1, am I taken to a Mozilla page

Check Your Plugins
Keeping your third-party plugins up to date helps Firefox run safely
and smoothly.
Don't know why you are automatically taken there, maybe because you have
some plugin installed that needs updating?
If I were to turn off Firefox spoofing, would I be taken to
the correct page ?
It /is/ the correct page. The spoofing has not influence on the page or
its location.
The URL itself gives no indication that
it is Firefox-specific :
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
Right. See? Mozilla at its best. They don't care about SM. The people
who created that page probably don't know about SM at all. But hey, I
won't blame them. I feel it's better to link to a page that is
maintained (read: kept up-to-date) by paid Mozilla staff than having to
come up with something similar ourselves, reducing our time to work on
more important stuff even more. If you're more adventurous than me,
though, feel free to contact the maintainers of that page and ask them
to better align the page with what the URL suggests. Maybe they'll hear
you. After all, there are rather positive examples for that, e.g. AMO.
Greetings,
Jens
