You use a **Web browser** to access Web sites like
http://groups.google.com
A newsreader is used to access NNTP addresses like
news:mozilla.support.seamonkey
I know, I know, but I wanted to setup my newsreader with google groups.
Please do not cross post to groups on this server, see the Posting
Etiquette as linked in my sig for more information.
netscape.public.mozilla.seamonkey is an abandoned developer group, not
much point in cross posting there, so I've snipped the cross posts from
this reply.
What Jeff is trying to say is that this cannot be done. You can access
the groups here by setting up an account for news.mozilla.org in the
SeaMonkey news reader. You can use a news server provided by your isp,
or a paid news server such as giganews to see other groups.
groups.google.com is not a news server, its a web address. You cannot
set up an account for it in SeaMonkey.

The closest you can come with google is to set up an RSS feed for the
groups you want but seamonkey currently does not support RSS feeds. I
would love to see this ability added.

Try Multizilla: http://multizilla.mozdev.org
I use Van Dale, the dutch Oxford dictionary
