Wasn't there some setting that allowed you to bypass the Seamonkey

So damned many Firefox add-ons that won't install on Seamonkey...

SeaMonkey is used by a couple hundred thousand users worldwide, if that many. Firefox is used by millions.

Which application are you going to develop for?

If I go to an extension such as

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/xsidebar/?src=cb-dl-featured

where the +Add to SeaMonkey button is gray, and click on it anyway, I get a popup with an "Install Anyway" button. Whether the extension will work or not is another matter.
