Regarding extraneous and redundant requests for the master password, see
bug #776268 at <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=776268>.

The extra request when you want to view passwords is a safety feature.
It serves to prevent accidental exposure of passwords. This request
occurs when you select the Show Passwords button in the Data Manager.
However, this request should occur only once and not for every domain.
See bug #646154 at <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=646154>.

Finally, if you have already entered your master password, that entry is
"forgotten" if you cancel the request from Data Manager. See bug
#667334 at <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=667334>.

There are several other bug reports related to these.

Anyone who thinks government owns a monopoly on inefficient, obstructive
bureaucracy has obviously never worked for a large corporation.
