Thanks for the helpful hints guys - I'll check them all out next time I change my website. I realise the site doesn't pass the w3c validator but altering it is beyond me - maybe when the kids are home at Xmas! The site is created in Serif WebPlus X6 so I'll also ask Serif for advice.
