I'm not sure if that is a proper way of migrating configuration... I know it has worked for me, but only for relatively small version increments. Older config files are converted to newer formats for some time, but after a number of releases the conversion is dropped. Besides, the filenames you mention (with the exception of bookmarks.html) don't look familiar to me. They likely require references from the prefs.js?
