Interviewed by CNN on 11/01/2013 17:36, Paul Bergsagel told the world: > There is an article on ZDNet: > > http://www.zdnet.com/time-to-take-another-look-at-firefox-7000009692/?s_cid=e539 > > This article discusses all the memory usage improvements made to FF 18 > namely that FF 18 now uses much less memory than previous versions. > > Are the improvements to FF 18's memory footprint incorporated into > SeaMonkey 2.15? How does SeaMonkey's memory usage compare to FF?
Well, from what I have seen of the reports of the MemShrink initiative, many (most?) of the memory leaks caught are on Gecko. Since Seamonkey uses the same version of Gecko as Firefox, Seamonkey benefits from these improvements as a matter of course. I think that there are other parts of the code besides Gecko that are shared between FF and SM, and therefore improvements in those areas would eventually find its way to SM too. -- MCBastos This message has been protected with the 2ROT13 algorithm.
