Sorry about that. Well what I ended up doing was running a security
checks found out "I" had a problem deleted the file, deleted SM and
reinstalled and am now working properly or at least I think so. I had
installed a change to a program and I think it bit me! Thanks for the
reply.

Are you timing out on all news group servers or just one?? If the
former, then could be SM problem, if the latter, most likely NG server
problem!!
