You do not say what OS your using, but I assume Windows. I see this
type hang
on Linux with LibreOffice 3.6.3.. Just started with upgrade to
SeaMonkey 2.15
awhile back. Mine always comes back after 10-30 seconds and I can
continue.

Have you reported a bug on this. Post the bug number and I will add
comments.
