I'm trying to figure out which folder I put a bookmark in -- any ideas?

I've got dozens of bookmark folders, and I can definitely find the
bookmark using the search tool at Manage Bookmarks, but when it returns
a hit, there's no information about folder location, just the bookmark
itself.

Thanks.

That's because Bookmarks are no longer contained as files within folders
- they are in a single database file called places.sqlite within your
Profile. The only way to manage them now is using Manage Bookmarks.

You can still Import/Export them as .html, and then use Composer or any
other HTML editor on that file.

Well, that's an awful long way around to do what I'm asking.

I'm not talking about file folders. If you're in a browser window and
want to go to a bookmark, you click "Bookmark" at the top and you get a
pull-down list of bookmarks, some of which are organized into folders.
But if you can't think which of these folders you put the desired
bookmark in, how do you find it? And if you use Manage Bookmarks to find
it, how do you move it to a place that makes more sense? The MB search
window doesn't tell you where you put it in the first place, so you
still have no idea where it is.

The way I do that is to use the Bookmarks tab in my Sidebar - open the Sidebar and you can open/close folders easily by clicking the little triangle, click the Bookmark, and then close the Sidebar.

Be aware that the Sidebar will remember which folders you open - so you can leave folders open/closed as you like when you shut the Sidebar and they will be that way the next time you open the Sidebar. And I think that Manage Bookmark will also remember.
