Interviewed by CNN on 06/04/2013 17:13, Henry told the world: > Current SeaMonkey can't use a Mozilla Suite profile, but on first run it > should notice the Mozilla profile and launch an import wizard. See > <http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_migration_-_SeaMonkey> for details. > > This seems like an easier alternative. Is it just as effective?
No, it is not "just as effective." Some parts of the profile information will certainly be lost in a direct upgrade. Due to various technical reasons, some features of the import profile wizard dealing with old-style profiles were removed over the years. Will the remaining information be enough for you? I don't know; I haven't ever attempted to do it that way. You may have a workable system missing some stuff you don't deem really important, or you may end up with a broken profile. The *safer* route is to do a step-by-step upgrade as indicated by Daniel. But, just to be sure, you should backup your profile before starting. -- MCBastos This message has been protected with the 2ROT13 algorithm.
