On my ISP provided e-mail account, I have a fairly small byte count,

So I've set myself up a Yahoo e-mail account!

What I now want to do is download those e-mails into an account on the
Mail & Newsgroup screen in SeaMonkey. I seem to remember that this was
possible, back in the Moz Suite days, but looking through the SeaMonkey
Extension pages, I don't see anything which seems to do this!

Set it up as an IMAP account & then turn on "Synchronization &
Storage Settings (IMAP)":

====
Help/F1
   Search IMAP

    Synchronization & Storage Settings (IMAP)

If you are not already viewing the synchronization and storage
preferences for an IMAP account, begin from the Mail window:

Open the Edit menu and choose Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings. You
see the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings dialog box.
Choose the Synchronization & Storage category for an IMAP
     account.

Keep messages for this account on this computer: Select
this option so that messages in your folders will be available when
you are working offline. This setting also applies to any new folders
     created or subscribed to.

That effectively "downloads" the messages (and attachments) to your
computer. Works for me on the Yahoo IMAP mail accounts I have.

Thank you to MCBastos and NoOp.

Never tried IMAP before! When I created the Yahoo account, I guess I should have selected IMAP, somewhere.
