OK - I think I know now what a "DNS" is....
This shows how little I know - How do I "open a Command Prompt" ?
Where - how ? You have to tell me what that means.
In SeaMonkey's Location Bar ?
Back in the old DOS ?
Holding the Windows key, press "R." This will open a little window
asking you what program to run. Enter "cmd" (without quotation marks),
hit "Enter." This works on lots of versions of Windows, at least as far
back as XP.
ipconfig/flushdns - get error message.
Windows cannot find "ipconfig/flushdns"
Tried - ipconfig.
Window came up and immediately disappeared.
???

Try a space between the 'g' and the '/'.
ipconfig is the command, /flushdns is the flag modifying the command.
The window came up and immediately disappeared !
Don't know if it did anything.
Tried the Annoyances.org link - same result.
Should I do that and then restart the computer before trying the link again ?

I'm having trouble with the immediately disappeared part. When you start the command
prompt you get a black box with a blinking cursor, correct?
When I do it here it displays:
--
>ipconfig /flushdns
Windows IP Configuration
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
--
Followed by the command prompt again. The box doesn't go anywhere until I type 'exit'
followed by [ENTER]. This is in XP SP3. So I'm definitely not understanding something.
When you type dir [ENTER] at the command prompt does it stick around?
For whatever it's worth annoyances.org proclaims its unavailability to me, too.
