Dave, have a look at Edit->Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings, and select
"Server Settings" for your email account. At the bottom of that screen,
check out the "Local directory" location ... that is where your email
inbox, sent, trash, etc., are located.
If you also want to save your bookmarks, etc., they are usually stored a
directory or two higher up.
You might want to search for a program called MozBackup
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mozbackup/ It might do what you are
trying to do!
MozBackup is the way to go. Yes you can do it by hand, but Mozback up
works well and is so easy.
